Learning Objectives:
By the end of this two-day course, students will be able to:
- Understand Facial Anatomy: Identify the major muscles, vessels, and areas prone to dermal filler application.
- Evaluate Patient Needs: Assess patient suitability for dermal fillers and conduct appropriate consultations.
- Demonstrate Injection Techniques: Safely and accurately administer dermal fillers using various techniques, such as linear threading and serial puncture.
- Understand Dermal Filler Types: Differentiate between types of fillers (e.g., hyaluronic acid, calcium hydroxyapatite) and their applications.
- Manage Adverse Effects: Recognize, prevent, and treat common complications such as bruising, swelling, or allergic reactions.
- Adhere to Health and Safety Standards: Implement hygiene and infection control best practices to ensure safe procedures.
Course Structure:
Day 1:
Morning (9:00 AM – 12:00 PM):
- Introduction to Dermal Fillers: Overview of different types, product selection, and patient safety.
- Facial Anatomy for Injectors: Detailed study of muscles, nerves, and injection zones.
- Health & Safety Protocols: Guidelines for sanitation, infection control, and pre-procedural care.
Afternoon (1:00 PM – 4:00 PM):
- Practical Demonstration: Instructor-led live demo of basic injection techniques.
- Hands-On Practice: Supervised sessions with mannequin heads for practicing injection techniques.
Day 2:
Morning (9:00 AM – 12:00 PM):
- Patient Consultation and Consent: Role-playing patient assessments and managing expectations.
- Advanced Injection Techniques: Lip augmentation, cheek contouring, and treating fine lines.
Afternoon (1:00 PM – 4:00 PM):
- Hands-On Practical: Supervised practice on live models (participants bring a model or are provided).
- Managing Complications: How to handle adverse reactions during and after treatments.
- Q&A and Feedback Session: Open forum to discuss participant challenges and next steps.
